No, not really. Boulder is located at the base of the Rocky Mountains. We are situated right in the plains and rocky foothills—with scenic mountain views—but our elevation is only 5,430 feet above sea level.

Boulder enjoys a fairly dry, mild climate and about 245 days of sunshine a year. Over the year, the temperature typically varies from 22°F to 87°F and is rarely below 6°F or above 95°F.

The nearest skiing is 21 miles away at Eldora ski resort. It’s about a 45-minute drive from most hotels. This family-friendly, locals’ favorite ski area is an excellent, low-key way to enjoy skiing while you’re in Colorado. There is no lodging at Eldora, so it’s best to make Boulder your basecamp.

The three hotels closest to Pearl Street (Boulder’s pedestrian shopping and dining street) are the Hotel Boulderado, St Julien Hotel & Spa and the Bradley Boulder Inn. None are directly on Pearl Street, but they are each about a block and a half off Pearl.
